This collection consist of correspondence, telegrams, notes, reports, speeches, newspaper clippings, and publications which span most of Trotter's career in Agricultural Education.

Some periods are much better documented than are others. Materials for the period before 1936 include some leaflets, a few letters, circulars and clippings, and one pamphlet. Trotter's move from Missouri to Texas is well documented in letters, bills, and telegrams, but his transfer to Agricultural Extension and then to the Graduate School at Texas A&M College in College Station, Texas are poorly covered. Most of the available information is in the newspaper clippings. Both moves were made during periods of controversy. Hopefully additional documentation can be found elsewhere in the records of Texas A&M University.

Trotter's activities as Director of Extension and Dean of the Graduate School at Texas A&M College should be fairly well covered in the records of those two offices. Unfortunately his personal papers conatain very little information on them. The only documentation on Trotter's two periods of foreign service is in the reports he wrote on his cotton surveys in 1948. Some special activities such as service on the Postwar Planning Committee and participation in Rural Church Conference are fairly well documented.

This collection contains a 24-page handwritten essay on Ice machinery written on June 16, 1882, by C. S. Travis. Possibly, this was an essay for a class assignment or lecture. The essay describes Ice machinery mechanics in 1882.

This collection contains correspondence related to the Texas A&M veterinarian, Hubert Schmidt, along with notes on fellow veterinarian Mark Frances, veterinary books, and translations, along with Texas A&M College memorabilia. This collection contains a "T" certificate from Hubert Schmidt’s time as a member of the Texas A&M College football team from 1906-1908. This collection also contains veterinary publications and notes related to Hubert Schmidt and Mark Francis.

This collection contains letters written to Hal Moseley, dealing primarily with football and football coaches at A&M from 1898 to 1900. Also, included in the collection are Moseley's own report cards from 1899, commencement invitations from 1898 and 1900, and hand-drawn illustrations from a mechanical engineering class he attended at A&M. The collection also contains a subscription advertisement for the "Texas Foot Ball Review" dated March 25, 1897.

This collection includes materials relating to the 1982 A&M basketball reunion for the Class of 1935.

This collection contains items pertaining to the life of Henry Bates Stoddard. Stoddard served on a committee designed to head the local effort to locate a proposed girls' industrial school at A&M. Stoddard was once considered for the Presidency of A&M College of Texas in 1902.

The collection contains many petitions from various citizens of Texas to the Board of Directors of Texas A&M. The petitions request the consideration of H. B. Stoddard to fill the vacant position of President of the College. (Stoddard did not, ultimately, become President.) Included herein is also Stoddard's handwritten will to his daughter and sister-in-law, a picture of Stoddard, two letters written to him, and several other items.

This collection contains notebooks and textbooks from classes McElroy took, football programs, miscellaneous materials on Texas A&M, correspondence, press information, news clippings and reports, magazine articles on Texas A&M sports and other campus events and events around Texas, questionnaires from his time on the council for nomination to the Texas A&M Hall of Fame, printed articles written by McElroy, and a term paper of his.

This collection contains documents pertaining to Gustav H. Pape's life including photographs, correspondence, biography, and other personal items.

This collection contains a photocopy of Chapter 8 from the second edition of a book entitled Gustav McKee Watkins: A Biography, by John Bennett Watkins II, with additional references including a follow-up email of contents and extra biography materials.

This collection includes evaluations and results from the Grumman Ag-Cat which was test flown at the Texas A&M College System's Pattern Measuring Station for the purpose of developing adequate spray and solids distribution systems. Also included are several pieces of correspondence between persons involved in this research.

This collection represents 68 years of materials authored or collected by Turner. Series 1. through Series 4. include highway engineering reports written for the Bureau of Public Roads, Clay Committee papers dating from the 1950s hearings on the development of a national interstate highway program, and speeches, publications, correspondence, and research notes generated by his career as a federal highway official. The aforementioned inscribed copy of A More Beautiful America by Lyndon Baines Johnson is is included in this material.

Upon his retirement, Turner became a transportation consultant, advising local, national, and international agencies, associations, and companies on transportation issues. The bulk of these post-retirement and consulting materials are found in Series 5 through Series 9. These materials include maps, photographs, research notes and manuscript drafts for a three-year study he and Harmer E. Davis conducted for the International Road Federation. The study, published in 1977 and titled A Comparative Analysis of Urban Transportation Requirements, compares transportation needs in urban areas in fourteen countries, including the United States.

Another large portion of the papers found in Series 7. contains papers related to Turner's membership in various associations. Throughout his lifetime Turner remained devoted to groups such as the Highway Users Federation and the American Association of State Highway Officials. Correspondence, speeches, and conference notes related to these associations reflect his continued involvement in the transportation field almost until the year of his death.

The collection also includes correspondence, transcripts, and drafts of several reports recording the history of the interstate highway, a subject for which Turner was a popular informant. The most extensive project is a study by the Public Works Historical Society, commissioned by the American Public Works Association and the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials.

This collection contains letters to Forest W. Cooper, an A&M student, who was elected First Lieutenant in the Corps of Cadets in 1923. The letters within were sent by Dana X. Bible, James Sullivan, and "Puny" Wilson, all who were involved with A&M athletics. Also, information about Cooper and the collection are included.
