These yell books from A&M College's early history was the start of the school's tradition of having yell leaders, who led yells at football games. Some books feature yells that are no longer in use, and older versions of A&M yells used today.

The books were created in Bryan-College Station, Texas for the sole purpose of being used by A&M College students at football games. Their layout and designs changed throughout the decades along with the advertisements from local establishments.

Most of this collection was owned by former students, so you may see names, doodles, and in some cases homemade yells.

This collection contains tickets, season ticket books, a game passes for A&M athletic games and events including men's and women's Basketball, Baseball, Football, Track and Field, Sports Day, Roller Derby, Huntsville Prison Rodeo, and the Fiddler's Festival Dance. This collection consists of one notebook (housed in a phase box), measuring approximately 10 x 8 inches, containing 49 leaves of machine ruled paper, in cloth over cardboard covers, which was manufactured with two-hole punched metal fasteners.

The front cover design shows: at the top "…A. & M. COLLEGE…, COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS"; in the center, a black and white picture depicting the Old Main building on the Texas A & M College campus, measuring 4.5 x 4 inches; below picture, "Department of" with a ruled space filled in by hand with ink the word "Horticulture," and "Name" with a ruled space filled in by hand in ink with the name "Jess Easterwood."; at center bottom, "PUBLISHED BY, W. M. WELCH MFG. COMPANY, 100 LAKE ST., CHICAGO, WELCH'S PATENT AUTOMATIC FASTENER." The name "EASTERWOOD" and other initials, etc. are scrawled in ink or pencil on the front cover as well.

Most of the notebook's leaves are filled in on the recto page only with class notes written by hand in either pencil or ink, labeled as taken from lectures. A few pages are filled with scrawled names and phrases, repeated over and over, the phrases usually in some way related to the lecture notes, but often just variations on Easterwood's name or initials.

One exception found on leaf 19 is the beginnings of a draft letter, dated January 25, [19]08, to his father, noting that Easterwood has been recently ill for a "protracted" period of time. Lecture notes in roughly the first half of the notebook pertain to Animal Husbandry [l. 1-14; l. 15-18 & 20 are blank], especially causes, symptoms, and treatment of conditions such as colic, heaves, constipation, dysentery, catarrh of stomach and bowels in livestock, while the latter half are concerned with a class labeled "Horticulture 4" [l. 21-49; the top half of l. 45 is torn out], particularly the cultivating of fruit trees and the marketing of their produce.

Aside from presenting an interesting taste of curriculum offerings at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College in the early twentieth century, some of the notebook's scrawled asides give a quite colorful glimpse into the mind of a restless and enterprising cadet straying from the lecture in progress.

This collection also contains correspondence regarding the 1913 student strike written mostly to Milner, who was President of A&M during the strike.

Trice's "Scrapbook of A&M College Life" contains photographs of campus buildings, sports teams and games, people, and other miscellaneous scenes from around A&M College during his time there from 1910-1914.

This scrapbook contains photographs and newspaper clippings dating from 1911-1915. Included inside is a copy of The Student Farmer (October 1914), photographs of the Old Main building, and the Mess Hall before and after they burned. A photograph of Old Main from the North showing the old stone walk and of a tree, possibly the Centennial Oak. Also, a photo of Uncle Dan who is marked as being the "oldest resident" on campus, which is noted in an early statement about his longevity.

This collection contains papers of Dr. J. Oscar Morgan who was a Professor of Agronomy at A & M College of Texas in the early 1900s. Few exact dates could be identified, but some of the papers are dated around 1911-1912.

There is no information about whether these papers were ever published as articles, or whether they were used only in the classroom.

This collection contains memorabilia from Joe Utay’s career as a football coach during the mid-1900s along with his collection of football programs and stats rosters from his time serving in the Southwest Conference. Joe Utay was a member of the Texas A&M Football team from 1905-1907 as a halfback and was the football coach from 1912-1936. He was involved with the Southwestern Conference, the Cotton Bowl, and the Texas Officials Association.

This collection includes correspondence from Douglas MacArthur (then serving as the Commandant of West Point) discussing a potential football game between West Point and Texas A&M College. This collection also contains two lawsuits appealing for Texas A&M College to admit women to the university in 1933 and 1955. (The lawsuits were given to Joe Utay for legal review.)

The covers of the Texas A&M College (TAMC) are authentic leather with the years pressed into them. The college calendars consist of past time pictures of A&M's campus, students, and faculty. The calendars cover events that were important to A&M specifically and were created in Bryan/ College Station, Texas. These calendars showcased important events for the A&M community to come together. A couple of these calendars were formerly owned by former students and may contain sensitive information (i.e. address), so please be mindful of their privacy.

This collection is the result of the family of Earl O. Hall seeking to determine the circumstances of his last mission (in February 1943), and the location of the action where the plane was shot down. The search took several years and resulted in the discovery of several incorrect versions of the events of that day. With the assistance of the Air Force Historical Unit at Maxwell Air Force Base, a good record of the actions of the 42nd Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) from December 1941 through February 1943 was assembled. The collection consists of family papers from the Hall family, records from the family of Joaquin Castro, Co-Pilot, correspondence to and from the Hall family, correspondence from individuals in the South Pacific, correspondence from the Army Air Force, and other related correspondence. Material from printed histories of the Seventh Air Force, the 13th Air Force, the 42nd Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), and other published material sheds light on the wartime history of the area, and conditions of the military bases in 1942.

Records include accusation accounts from former students, parents, faculty, and staff. The Texas A&M College Hazing February 1913 Special Committee found twenty-two A&M undergraduate students guilty of hazing be dismissed from Texas A&M.

The bulk of the latter material probably pertains to a book on which Mayo was working at the time of his death in 1954. The book was to have been titled The Great Pendulum and would have recorded the cycles between romanticism and rationalism in art and literature.
