The collection spans Bill Crider's entire career. A near-complete run of manuscripts traces his writing career, supplemented by a correspondence file, miscellaneous material, and books and magazines. A long run of "DAPA-EM," the organ of a mystery writer's amateur press association completes the collection.

The Arkham House Collection consists of correspondence from August Derleth to Howard Wandrei. Derleth, a writer, founded Arkham House to publish and keep in print the work of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, a friend and fellow writer. Lovecraft died in 1937; for the next two years Derleth tried unsuccessfully to find a publisher for Lovecraft's writings. Using money from prepaid orders and the personal investment of Donald Wandrei (brother of Howard Wandrei), Derleth founded Arkham House in 1939. Arkham House published science fiction works by Lovecraft and other writers such as Algernon Blair, Clark Ashton Smith and Henry S. Whitehead.

In his letters to fellow science-fiction writer Howard Wandrei, August Derleth writes about his publishing efforts at Arkham House, his own writing career and the details of his personal life. His letters also mention other authors and publishing houses. The letters date from 1930-1953; most letters are accompanied by the original stamped envelopes.

A collection of letters to and from Robert E. Howard, from circa 1920-1936, with miscellaneous Howard items, copies of magazines featuring Howard stories, and books containing Howard stories and novels. Also included are a number of items relating to films based on Howard's works.

The Burgess Collection consists of the first draft of the unpublished novel Puma, written in 1976 as a film treatment that was never made into a film. The novel is accompanied by a letter of explanation from Brian Kirby to Jim O'Roark, February 7, 1979.

Portions of the novel, which was pitched as an update of the classic film When Worlds Collide and which would have told the story of a planet [named "Puma"] hurtling towards Earth, was later adapted by Burgess into his 1982 novel The End of the World News.

This collection consists of the manuscripts and associated materials, that document the life and career of award-nominated science fiction and fantasy writer Kay Kenyon. Materials in this collection include typescripts, drafts, notes, summaries, and correspondence.

This collection consists of typescripts of several of Binder's novels with most including the author's corrections and accompanying carbons, and a number of short stories with most corrected including carbons and in some cases tearsheets from the magazines in which the stories initially appeared, corrected and with continuation sheets for expansion into full-length books.

In addition, there are close to 300 business and personal letters, photographs, postcards, and other files including broadcasting projects, non-fiction articles, letters and critiques from literary agents and publishers, materials on Space World, and several folders of unfinished manuscripts. Unusual "picture cards" featuring text and photographs on postcards are included.

Excluding duplicate carbons, letters, etc., there are approximately 2,300 pages (mostly 11 x 8.5-inches) of typescript with a total of about 575,000 words. Many of Binder's letters are on letters received or on the backs of manuscript or script fragments.

This collection consists of numerous typewritten manuscripts of short stories and novels from science fiction author K.D. (Kathy Diane) Wentworth. Among other works, included is the manuscript for Wentworth's 1994 novel Moonspeaker, the first in her "House of Moons Chronicles" fantasy series.

This collection consists of several manuscripts of Panshin's work, including his 1968 novel The Thurb Revolution and his serialized novel The Son of Black Morca (1973, photocopies). Also included is a set of galleys for Panshin's Masque World (1969).

This collection consists of the manuscript for Harrison's one-act play The Day After the End of the World, written in 1980. The manuscript is 15 leaves typed with handwritten edits.

This collection consists of the manuscript for Fox's short story A Witch in Time, published in September 1973. The manuscript is typed, 22 pages with an additional 2-page blurb.

This collection consists of the release dialogue script of the 1965 Paramount film Crack in the World starring Dana Andrews as Dr. Steven Sorenson, who plans to tap the geothermal energy of the Earth's interior by means of a thermonuclear device detonated deep within the Earth. Despite dire warnings by fellow scientist Ted Rampion (Kieron Moore), Sorenson proceeds with the experiment after secretly learning that he is terminally ill. This experiment causes a crack to form and grow within the earth's crust, which threatens to split the earth in two if it is not stopped in time. The screenplay was written by White and Julian Halevy.

This collection consists of photocopies of the 49 page typed manuscript for the novelette, Shall We Take a Little Walk, published in Destinies, the winter of 1981.

(Several stories in the collection would be actually published in F&SF by Rusch's successor Gordon Van Gelder, who edited the magazine between 1997-2015.) With a few exceptions, all of the manuscripts were eventually published in the magazine.

Many of the manuscripts in the collection contain handwritten edits, most of which are grammatical or structural and made by copyeditors. A minority of edits, some of them more substantive textual alterations, appear to have been made by the authors themselves.

This collection contains manuscripts, printed material, correspondence, legal documents, financial documents, idea books, photographic material, and books created and/or maintained by Howard Waldrop which give a glimpse of his personal life as well as document his professional life as one of the prolific and best-known science fiction writers from Texas.

The first category consists of Howard Waldrop's works both published and unpublished arranged alphabetically by title. Some manuscript files in this category may contain correspondence, notes, research material, contracts, royalty statements, proofs, etc. Thus, information about a specific story can be found in the collection by title.

The second category consists of materials related to Waldrop personally and/or professionally. This category is arranged alphabetically by general topical heading. His idea for some of his stories can be found in his Idea Books file from 1968 to 1988. Information about him personally or professionally can be found in the newspaper clippings, correspondence, and his work diaries files. His movements for any given year from the 1970s to 1994 could be reconstructed from his science fiction convention, conferences, programs, etc. file. But the most important file in this category is his story logs file 1970-1989. The file shows: when and where a story was written, how long it is; who bought it or did not; when and where it was published (or supposed to be published); and any subsequent reprints or foreign editions, royalties, etc.

The last category of the collection is works by or materials related to other science fiction writers. It includes manuscripts of other writers' works that happened to be in his possession or other writers' manuscripts in which he is a collaborator. Some biographical sketches of other writers can be found in the Con Bios-writers file. Information about Waldrop written by other writers can also be found in this category of the collection.

This collection consists of two versions of the manuscript for William Gibson's 2007 novel Spook Country, a science fiction technothriller that is the second in his acclaimed "Blue Ant" trilogy. (It follows Gibson's 2003 novel Pattern Recognitions and precedes 2010's Zero History). The trilogy has been defined by Gibson himself as "speculative novels of last Wednesday", that is, novels set in the contemporary world but viewed through a science fictional perspective, showing readers the present through a futuristic lens.

The Blue Ant trilogy centers on the character of Hubertus Bigend, an advertising executive and tech magnate who serves as the series' amoral antihero. Though Bigend dominates the trilogy as whole, Spook Country focuses on the intertwining stories of three characters in particular: Hollis Henry, a journalist hired by Bigend to write a story on the phenomenon of 'locative art'; Chinese-Cuban Tito, a member of a family of criminals who gets bound up in American secret intelligence operations; and Milgrim, a drug addict being held in captivity by a mysterious covert operative named Brown. The novel, set in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, and explores the uses and misuses of locative technology, the eversion of cyberspace, and the changed political climate of the United States following the attacks. It was nominated for the 2008 Locus award for Best SF Novel, the 2009 Imaginaire Award, and the 2017 Prix Aurora for Best of the Decade.

Both versions are housed in clamshell boxes within the larger enclosure. The first box contains the autographed typescript of the novel, with heavy corrections and copyedits. The second box holds the autographed and corrected unbound proofs.

This collection contains materials relating to the life and career of Texas-based science fiction and fantasy writer Jessica Reisman. Materials include typescript drafts for many of her published and unpublished stories, as well as drafts and notes from stories written before her professional career began. Other items in the collection include spec scripts and screenplays written by Reisman, academic writing from her undergraduate days, and assorted other materials.

This collection contains a number of manuscripts from noted science fiction author John Sladek (1937-2000). The materials, which include typed manuscripts, galleys, and notes, range through most of Sladek's career and contan many of his most notable works. Works represented in the collection include Roderick, or The Education of A Young Machine(1980) and its sequel Roderick at Random(1983); Tik-Tok(1983), and The Muller-Fokker Effect(1970).

Also included are manuscripts for a number of works Sladek wrote under various pseudonyms. These pseudonyms include Cassanda Knye, Richard A. Tilms, and James Vogh.

This collection consists of the original typescript of Arthur C. Clarke's short story, "Jupiter Five", written in 1951 and first published in the May 1953 issue of the magazine IF: Worlds of Science Fiction. This typescript is the setting copy for the magazine publication and has been copy-edited by editor Larry T. Shaw and the author. It also includes two layout sheets with design notes and paste-in illustrations.
