This collection contains a copy of the Charter, by-laws, financial reports, correspondence, photographs, and news clippings from Community House, Inc. which was an organization in College Station, Texas for the promotion of community welfare and support of benevolent, charitable, and educational undertakings.

This collection contains files accumulated by Robert W. "Bill" Barzak as a member of the ad hoc Committee to Propose a Faculty Grievance System, 1972; of the Faculty Advisory Committee, 1970-1971; and the ad hoc Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure, circa 1965-1970.

This collection contains fifteen portrait photographs of Texas A&M College students. The photographs were given to A. H. Neighbors by other classmates also graduating in the Class of 1911, and one portrait from a member of the Class of 1913. Only one of the photographs has yet to be identified. Also included is the letter accompanying the photographs when mailed to the Ex-student Association from A. H. Neighbors, Jr. in 1976.

This collection contains the personal papers and writings of Texas religious figure and sometime-political candidate Johnnie Mae Hackworth. The collection documents Hackworth's life; her political campaigns for Governor, Senator, and President;  her conservative political views; and her colorful and unorthodox religious beliefs.

Hackworth's papers contains correspondence to and from Hackworth, Hackworth's notebooks, her various political and religious/prophetic writings, religious and political writings from others that were collected by Hackworth, photographs, and various pieces of ephemera. Notable and predominant among her correspondence are long and rambling letters that Hackworth wrote to political, media and law enforcement figures in Texas as well as on the national level.

Also included is correspondence and other materials from Hackworth's second husband Edwin A. Schaufler, a longtime railroad executive.

This collection consists of comic books, mostly from the 1980s into the early 1990s. Included are well-known titles published by both Marvel and DC Comics, as well as Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and a large assortment of independent comic book companies no longer in existence.

Some of the well-known series included in the collection are Superman, Batman, Captain America, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, X-Factor, X-Men, Spider-man, the Justice League of America, Teen Titans, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Alpha Flight, the Incredible Hulk, the Punisher, Thor, Wolverine, Youngblood, and Weapon X.

This collection is comprised of correspondence, publications, writings, listings, directories, manuscripts, photographs, and research material for the Powers publication on Texas art and artists, titled, "Texas Painters, Sculptors & Graphic Artists: A Biographical Dictionary of Artists in Texas Before 1942", Austin, TX: Woodmont Books, 2000. The collection is primarily photocopies and writings of the Powers with some published materials.

The original order has been maintained as much as possible. Correspondence is dispersed throughout the collection with most concentrated in box 1. Those artists with significant information have been given a single file. The artists' information files are arranged in alphabetical order by artist's last name and are inclusive of all artists within the alphabetical listing. Each of these files begins with one artist and ends with the last artist information in the file. Artists' information can consist of one news item to several pages of information. To find an artist's name not listed on the file, please look at the file where his name would be in the alphabet.

The diary starts with an account of a voyage from Southampton to Barbados on the auxiliary sailing ship "Severn."  The bulk of the diary details the author's life in the new West Indies, the purpose of his visit being a bit obscure, but apparently involved with the building of machinery on the sugar plantations.  The diary makes fascinating reading with great detail about the way of life of the English settlers in mid-19th century West Indie, with much on the social side, including accounts of yachting trips, etc.  The final fifty or so pages include accounts of a voyage to and tour in India and European travels.  The diary concludes with a 20 page log of the voyage of the yacht "Urania," from Cowes to the Mediterranean and back from January through July 1872.

This collection predominantly dates from 1958 to 1961 and includes correspondence to and from members of the Citizens' Fellowship, notes, minutes from meetings, and newspaper clippings. There are items regarding the integration of public schools, including the A&M Consolidated Independent School District. The collection contains information regarding the issue of African American employment and community programs sponsored by the Citizens' Fellowship.

This collection contains materials collected and assembled by John A. Adams, Jr. as an active United States participant in the negotiations and agreement to permit free trade among the United States, Canada, and Mexico in what became the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1987. As a trained historian, Adams recognized the importance of documenting as much of the process as a single active participant could. In that process, he accumulated a wide variety of materials that include clippings, magazine articles, books, reports, correspondence, notes, newswire reports, pamphlets, leaflets, conference papers and programs, and other types of documents that shed light on the process of negotiating an international treaty.

After the treaty was formally approved by all parties involved, Adams boxed all of the documents he had collected, produced a report in which he briefly described the contents of each of the twenty-one boxes, and then gave them to the Political Sciences and Economics Library (PSEL) of the Texas A&M University Libraries where they were then house in three filing cabinets. A copy of Adams' report has been cataloged with a call number of HF 17456. A33.

During the 2005-2006 academic year, the materials were removed from the filing cabinets in PSEL and placed into 19 cubic foot archival boxes by Archivist Charles R. Schultz, who at the time also created a report of his own which included an inventory description of the contents used in the creation of this collection record. After the materials were rehoused and inventoried, they were deposited into the Cushing Memorial Library & Archives where all of the archives and special collections materials are housed.

The materials have been kept in the original folders in which Mr. Adams had them when he presented them to Texas A&M University. Some of the materials were not in folders when they were rehoused from the filing cabinets into boxes at PSEL and are still not in folders. In those cases where materials were not in boxes, that information is included in the descriptions of the folders in each of the nineteen boxes.

This collection contains nine scrapbooks that document the activities of the Texas A&M Bluebonnet Chapter during the years 1990-1992 and 2001-2009.

This collection contains correspondence, lists, meeting minutes, and notices of meetings along with other documents produced in relation to the Houston Civil War Round Table (CWRT).

The Preston M. Bolton Collection consists primarily of materials that document his long architectural career in Houston and elsewhere, including blueprints and other drawings for the structures he designed as well as the work files containing documentation (such as client correspondence and work orders) for each project.

Additionally there are various other materials, including files related to Bolton's activities with organizations such as People To People, and miscellaneous photographs.
