This collection contains letters that are instigated by the inquiries of Mr. Charles Perry Gould, and his desire to have Llewelyn Powys write an introduction for the upcoming reprint of The Simple Cobbler of Agawam. It contains the initial contact, the deal under which Powys writes the introduction, and also what happens to his writings after Powys' death. Sometimes in his letters to Mr. Gould, Llewelyn encloses postcards of Davos, Switzerland, as well as a picture of the author himself.

This collection contains personal correspondence between the President of the Texas Club at Texas A&M and members. Along with Mrs. Oliver P Harris’s personal letters and papers, and references to social clubs and events during the 1930s.

This collection consists of "cutting continuity" scripts for two science fiction film serials produced by Republic Pictures, Undersea Kingdom (1936), and Flying Disc Man From Mars (1950). Both serials had 12 episodes, the scripts for all of which are in the collection.

"Cutting continuity" scripts were not so much as screenplays in the traditional sense of the primary documents that are used to construct a film, as transcriptions of the final filmed product that were sent to the Production Code Administration (the self-regulating Hollywood agency that from 1934-1968 examined and judged movies for their content), to state censors, or to exhibitors.

This collection includes evaluations and results from the Grumman Ag-Cat which was test flown at the Texas A&M College System's Pattern Measuring Station for the purpose of developing adequate spray and solids distribution systems. Also included are several pieces of correspondence between persons involved in this research.

The collection contains various publications about Mebane's cotton, including pamphlets, and newspaper and magazine articles. There are many correspondences to A. D. Mebane complimenting and ordering his cottonseed. Because of the involvement with the Texas Cotton Breeders Association, the collection includes speeches given at the Association meetings.

This collection consists of a few letters, notes, drafts, and final copies of book reviews, articles, and chapters of books.

Book chapter topics include Gothic Culture, Medieval Architecture, Romanesque Art and Architecture, Baroque Art, and Renaissance Painting, particularly the paintings of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo Buonarroti. The bulk of the latter material probably pertains to a book on which Mayo was working at the time of his death in 1954. The book was to have been titled The Great Pendulum and would have recorded the cycles between romanticism and rationalism in art and literature.

This collection consists of 50 pages (small 1-inch binder) containing an overview autobiography of Tumlinson’s time spent in the United States Air Force during the Korean War along with photographs from his time overseas in Korea from 1953. Also included in the binder are mission reports.

This collection consists of one typed manuscript (17 leaves) by Godwin, for his 1955 story "You Created Us".

This collection contains correspondence, pictures, clippings, documents, notes, certificates, awards, and other materials concerning the military career of Air Force Lieutenant B. B. Baker and those with whom he worked. The materials span the time period of World War II as well as military operations and concerns in India, China, and Southeast Asia in the years following the war.

The largest section of correspondence is the letters between Lt. Baker and his parents dating from December 1942 to May 1954. Other correspondence includes those between Lt. Baker and others including Generals with whom Baker was associated.

Within the numerous military certificates awarded to Lieutenant Baker, there is an atomic illustration (joke certificate of atomic testing and WWII humor), a letter of gratitude from Harry Truman, and an Army certificate of appreciation for war service. Also included in the collection are military flying handouts, Marines football game photos, and other information about the WWII accounts in Baker's life. Other photographs include some of India in 1943 and 1944 as well as the Imperial Palace in Japan (folder 2/5). There is also a scrapbook containing newspaper articles concerning Asia along with notes on the region (folder 2/9).

This collection consists of an advance copy (bound unpaged galley proofs) of the first edition, first state; and an advance copy (bound unpaged galley proofs) of the first edition, second state, of Sturgeon's 1953 novel More Than Human.

The proofs represent the first state of the text without Sturgeon's extensive last-minute changes made at the publisher's office. A handwritten signed note by Sturgeon dated August 1954 on the inside front cover reads: "A few hours before 'More Than Human' went to press, the author felt a profound dissatisfaction with the last section. Working in the corner of a busy office at his publisher's, he rewrote the final portion. This is, as far as he knows, the only copy extant of the book before these changes were made. It is donated, with the author's warmest good wishes, to the World Science Fiction Convention of 1954, at San Francisco."

The revisions to the galleys were made on leaves 16, 120, 136, 139, and 144-145 and consisted mostly of insertions of new copy, ranging from about 150 words in one case to about 1500 in another (at the story's conclusion).

The proofs are accompanied by a signed letter, dated August 25, 1954, from Sturgeon (signed "Ted") to "Les" (probably Lester Cole, co-chairman of the convention) on Sturgeon's stationery, with an autograph postscript. This is the cover letter sent with the proof, in which Sturgeon explains why he will not be able to attend the 1954 convention due to a death in the family. He expresses sincere regret and names those to whom he would like to have his greetings conveyed, including "the six (at least) X's. These last are the handful, among all the wonderful people there, whom [sic] I haven't met yet but would discover and have for lifelong friends if only I could be there."

This collection includes personal letters from "Doc" W. A. Tolson's life including grade reports from A&M College, personal letters dating 1918-1943, photographs from his life and family, and articles dating back to the first broadcasted A&M football game. Other included newspaper articles refer to the A&M College band, Tolson's life working in Radio RCA programs, and his teachings at Princeton.

This collection contains the metal dies used by the Mechanical Engineering Department in making commemorative ashtray souvenirs for the 75th-anniversary celebration of Texas A&M in 1954.

This collection consists of the typed manuscript (21 leaves) for Leinster's short story "Honeymoon on Dlecka", published in Fantastic Universe, July 1955.

This collection includes some personal grade reports from former students at Texas A&M. It also includes average semester grades for freshmen, sophomores, or by department for sessions 1925-1926 to 1939-1940.

This collection encompasses a number of resources obtained with the support of A&M's Africana Studies Program.

Box 1, Teaching Aids, consists of chromo card albums that were published in continental Europe by various companies to garner support for the continuation of the control over colonies across Africa and Asia. Also, many of these albums intend to educate on the natural resources of the colonies and their indigenous inhabitants.

Box 2, Cards and Chromo Albums, consists of cards produced by various European companies that depict the African lifestyle and diaspora. Some cards also depict many stereotypes widely held by mainland European society. Also included are albums that may have been intended to educate the collector on topics such as the fauna of Africa, and the practice of hunting.

Box 3, Oversize Items, consists of more Chromo trade albums, teaching aids, ballots, and posters.

This collection consists of correspondence from T. H. White to David Garnett regarding literary matters.

This collection consists of materials relating to the 1956 A. E. Van Vogt novel Empire of the Atom, including the original typescript, galleys, and correspondence related to the book's publication and review.

This collection contains letters and photographs from Marshall Findley (Class of 1949) a graduate from Texas A&M. Findley was a member of the Corps of Cadets.

This collection contains correspondence related to the Texas A&M veterinarian, Hubert Schmidt, along with notes on fellow veterinarian Mark Frances, veterinary books, and translations, along with Texas A&M College memorabilia. This collection contains a "T" certificate from Hubert Schmidt’s time as a member of the Texas A&M College football team from 1906-1908. This collection also contains veterinary publications and notes related to Hubert Schmidt and Mark Francis.

The collection is an assortment of newspaper clippings, photographs, a typed biography, commencement programs, an Army training certificate and receipt, and contact information for Ralph Howard Mitchell.

The collection includes articles, books on gas measurement, and materials relating to the awards and achievements of Dr. Roland O. Cox.

This collection contains one typed letter to Ingle Barr dated 1957, and signed by Kenneth Roberts.

This collection contains a limited edition Christmas card, "A Flock of Guinea Hens Seen From a Car" (1957) with a corresponding envelope.

This scrapbook contains clippings on the Student Cooperative Housing at Texas A&M between 1932-1940 from local and state newspapers.

This collection contains materials related to the U.S.S. Amphion such as memorandums, Plans of the Day, and invitations to the commissioning. Also included are 45 slides with views of multiple ships, planes, and other images. Ships included are USS Kearsarge (CVA-33), USS Essex (CVA-9), USS Hancock (CVA-19), USS Cavalier (APA-37), USS Hassayampa (AO-145), USS Kidd (DD-661), USS Bradford (DD-545), USS Uhlmann (DD-687), and USS Agerholm (DD-826) among a few others.

This scrapbook contains black and white photographs of Philippine military operations, assumed to be during or after World War II. Also included is a copy of the pamphlet "Code of the U. S. Fighting Man" (1957).

The E. J. Kyle (1894-1957) Papers contains reports, correspondence, speeches, articles, applications, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, programs, pictures, memorandums, lists, and resolutions. Materials include correspondence, reports, speeches, and articles on E. J. Kyle's attempts to acquire more land and construct new buildings for the School of Agriculture at Texas A & M College. Other speeches and articles written by E. J. Kyle are concerned with subjects as cotton, soil conservation, and the cultivation of vegetables, fruits and nuts, particularly pecans.

Also present are reports Kyle wrote pertaining to Texas A & M College's enrollment plans and teaching techniques in Agricultural classes. Since Kyle was the head of many different programs at Texas A & M College, his papers contain applications and other information regarding the Land Prize, Anderson-Clayton Company Scholarship, and programs on Short Courses taught from 1913 to 1936. In addition to his academic duties, Kyle was also deeply involved with various types of research and the papers contain a few of the booklets, articles, and resolutions pertaining to the Soil Erosion Project, Frozen Food Research, and Texas Wildlife Research.

Correspondence in the papers deals with not only E. J. Kyle's work, but also contains letters from former students, commendations sent to Kyle, and letters concerning the naming of Kyle Field sports arena on the Texas A & M College campus.

Photographs contained in the collection are pertain to agricultural topics, such as cattle and pecan trees, the NYA program, Texas A & M College buildings, Texas A & M College football teams and sports events, and Kyle Field.Several football team rosters, programs from football games, newspaper clippings about sports events, and correspondence dealing with Kyle's position on the Athletic Council represent Kyle's close connection with many of the Texas A & M College athletics program.

Also present is a certificate of Kyle's appointment to the Farm Credit Association.

This collection contains various articles, newspaper clippings, and other memorabilia collected by Charles B. Richardson over his lifetime. Interesting pieces in the collection include Richardson's letter of promotion to Captain of the Louisiana militia (1848), newspaper clippings concerning various Civil War events, and a poster advertising agricultural combines dating from the mid-1870s. Another interesting piece in the collection is a payment receipt from October 26, 1863, for the services of a slave named Mike who worked on public defenses in Shreveport, Louisiana.
