This collection contains the personal papers and writings of Texas religious figure and sometime-political candidate Johnnie Mae Hackworth. The collection documents Hackworth's life; her political campaigns for Governor, Senator, and President;  her conservative political views; and her colorful and unorthodox religious beliefs.

Hackworth's papers contains correspondence to and from Hackworth, Hackworth's notebooks, her various political and religious/prophetic writings, religious and political writings from others that were collected by Hackworth, photographs, and various pieces of ephemera. Notable and predominant among her correspondence are long and rambling letters that Hackworth wrote to political, media and law enforcement figures in Texas as well as on the national level.

Also included is correspondence and other materials from Hackworth's second husband Edwin A. Schaufler, a longtime railroad executive.

This collection contains financial and legal documents related to the Johnson County War, also known as the War on Powder Creek, which was a range war between large cattle ranchers and small ranchers in Johnson County, Wyoming, in April 1892. The financial documents include a bill of sale written in compliance with the Maverick Law of 1884 and a promissory note. The legal documents were produced in connection with the criminal proceedings against the participants of the range war.

This collection consists of the release dialogue script of the 1965 Paramount film Crack in the World starring Dana Andrews as Dr. Steven Sorenson, who plans to tap the geothermal energy of the Earth's interior by means of a thermonuclear device detonated deep within the Earth. Despite dire warnings by fellow scientist Ted Rampion (Kieron Moore), Sorenson proceeds with the experiment after secretly learning that he is terminally ill. This experiment causes a crack to form and grow within the earth's crust, which threatens to split the earth in two if it is not stopped in time. The screenplay was written by White and Julian Halevy.

This collection consists of the manuscript for Pumilia's radio play "The Case of the Martian Minister" (typed, 11 leave), produced for the Houston Science Fiction Society.

This collection contains a large collection of reference materials relating to science fiction and fantasy author Andre Norton, assembled by Norton researcher Joseph Goldin. Materials include book reviews (both of Norton's work and those written by Norton herself in her capacity as a librarian at the Cleveland Public Library), essays, interviews, and other articles. They are drawn from newspapers, fanzines, secondary reference works, and prozines, among others.

With one or two exceptions, all of the materials in the collection are photocopies of the originals.

This collection contains memorabilia from Joe Utay’s career as a football coach during the mid-1900s along with his collection of football programs and stats rosters from his time serving in the Southwest Conference. Joe Utay was a member of the Texas A&M Football team from 1905-1907 as a halfback and was the football coach from 1912-1936. He was involved with the Southwestern Conference, the Cotton Bowl, and the Texas Officials Association.

This collection includes correspondence from Douglas MacArthur (then serving as the Commandant of West Point) discussing a potential football game between West Point and Texas A&M College. This collection also contains two lawsuits appealing for Texas A&M College to admit women to the university in 1933 and 1955. (The lawsuits were given to Joe Utay for legal review.)

This collection contains the personal letters of Dr. Joseph Sayers Mogford's (TAMU 1916) during his years as the Former Student Association's Class Agent in 1971-1980. Other documents in this collection include; a Bryan/College Station Eagle's special edition newspaper exploring the history of College Station, June 24, 1979, and Mogford's original 1916 graduation announcement.

This collection consists of numerous typewritten manuscripts of short stories and novels from science fiction author K.D. (Kathy Diane) Wentworth. Among other works, included is the manuscript for Wentworth's 1994 novel Moonspeaker, the first in her "House of Moons Chronicles" fantasy series.

This collection consists of the typescript for K. W. Jeter's 1989 horror novel In The Land of the Dead. The cover page has been inscribed by Jeter.

This collection consists of the manuscript with handwritten edits of the story "AFC", by Karl T. Pflock, published in Fantasticin September 1973, accompanied by a typewritten blurb.

This collection consists of the manuscripts and associated materials, that document the life and career of award-nominated science fiction and fantasy writer Kay Kenyon. Materials in this collection include typescripts, drafts, notes, summaries, and correspondence.

This collection consists of the first page, handwritten, with title and two lines of dialogue, of Laumer's 1986 novella “The Pan-Galactic Pageant of Pulchritude: A Retief Story”.

This collection consists of the scrapbook from Kenneth K. Prestridges containing materials from his time at A&M college from 1913-1917.

This collection contains one typed letter to Ingle Barr dated 1957, and signed by Kenneth Roberts.

This collection covers A&M Gay Student Services (GSS), Gayline, GSS Roommate Locator Service, and campus attitudes toward homosexuality and the LGBT community at the university before and after A&M officially recognized GSS as a campus organization.

Some material dates back to 1976, while other documents go as late as 1990. The bulk of the contents are from 1983-1986, being the period when the GSS lawsuit for recognition was ongoing to when litigation ended in July 1985, giving GSS official recognition. Media coverage over the issue of gay and lesbian students at A&M heated up in the fall of 1984 as GSS awaited a new court ruling. Most of the collection is local, given its subject, but also included are regional LGBT news and national entertainment news regarding LGBT persons.

This collection consists of a variety of media fanzines, mostly from the British television show The Professionals, but also including smaller numbers of fanzines from The Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Sentinel, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and several other media properties.

The majority of the content is fanfiction. Almost all the fanworks in this collection are identified as "slash,” referring to fanworks that feature same-sex relationships and are sometimes (though not always) sexually explicit. In slash, sexual identity, sexuality and/or romance are often the centers of the story, rather than the conventional adventures featured in more traditional fanworks.

A small portion of the collection consists of "het" material. "Het", like slash, refers to fanworks featuring sexual or romantic content, but with opposite-sex relationships.

"Gen" (more standard stories containing no sexual content) and het items are identified as such on the item folder. If an item is not identified as slash (s) or het (h), the item is slash. (g) indicates gen material. (h) indicates het material.

The collection also includes substantial numbers of fanvids (songvids). "Vidding" refers to the fannish activity of creating a music video (a 'fanvid') consisting of clips from various movies or TV shows set to particular pieces of music. Some vids utilize a single media universe, others involve multiple ones. The music that accompanies the clips is selected by the vidder in order to drive a particular narrative or to make a point about the characters or story being shown. Often these points are subversive of the accepted canon (for example, a vidder might use judiciously selected clips to suggest that two or more characters have a romantic relationship, whereas in "real life" no such relationship is stated or implied).

Finally, the collection includes a number of CDs containing images and stories from the yaoi genre of animated Japanese media. Yaoi, like slash, focuses on sexual or romantic relationships between male characters, as well as several examples of fan art from the television show Supernatural.

This collection contains materials from and about fantasy writer Britain, who is most well-known for her epic Green Rider fantasy novel cycle. Materials in the collection include manuscripts for several of the novels in the series; examples of Britain's other writings (including several information brochures she wrote for the National Park Service); correspondence to and from Britain, including items from authors Nevada Barr and Anne McCaffrey; a reference file containing copies of magazines with articles or other references relating to Britain; and assorted other materials.

This collection consists of materials created for the "Dream Gathering" festival held on November 2-3, 2018, at the Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor, ME. The festival was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of the epic fantasy novel Green Rider by then-Maine resident Kristen Britain in 1998, as well as the release of the latest volume in her series, The Dream Gatherer.

The Dream Gathering featured a reading and book talk from Britain herself, presentations by Green Rider composer Kristina A. Bischoff and photographer Madeline Shayne, displays of fanmade artifacts, cosplay, a virtual tour of Britain's archives at Cushing Memorial Library & Archives, and general fannish socializing.

This collection consists of several pages of musical score material composed by Kristina A. Bishoff. The score comes from Bishoff's 2018 'Green Rider: The Original Book Soundtrack', which was inspired by the Green Rider fantasy series by Kristin Britain.

This collection consists of manuscripts of short fiction, book reviews, and nonfiction pieces submitted to The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction during the editorship of Kristine Kathryn Rusch from 1991-1997. (Several stories in the collection would be actually published in F&SF by Rusch's successor Gordon Van Gelder, who edited the magazine between 1997-2015.) With a few exceptions, all of the manuscripts were eventually published in the magazine.

Many of the manuscripts in the collection contain handwritten edits, most of which are grammatical or structural and made by copyeditors. A minority of edits, some of them more substantive textual alterations, appear to have been made by the authors themselves.

This collection consists of historical materials relating to the early 20th-century history of the white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan. Although it began existence after the Civil War and ebbed away with the end of Reconstruction, the Klan re-emerged following World War I and gained a great deal of political and social influence across the United States into the early 1920s. The materials in this collection are drawn from that period when the Klan came out into the semi-public eye as a formal organization. A few items date from later in the 20th century.

In addition, the collection contains a number of issues of the American and Commercial Advertiser newspaper from 1868-1870, documenting the campaign of violence initiated by the first iteration of the Klan, from immediately after the Civil War.

Materials in the collection include newspaper and magazine articles on the Klan, Klan-sympathetic and Klan-run newspapers and other publications, photographs, organizational materials, and assorted examples of Klan literature and propaganda. They reflect the deep reserves of hate, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, ignorance, and nonsensical beliefs of the Klan and its members, as well as the comically risible vocabulary that was a part of Klan culture and practice.

Materials come from various Klan "klaverns" in Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia, with additional materials from Maine, Minnesota, and other locations.

This collection contains materials relating to the creation and writing of the Rat Patrol fanfic The Last Ride Raid, written in 1997 by L.C. Wells and Kathy Agel.

The collection, which contains copies of correspondence between Wells, Agel and their onetime collaborator Nora Myers; photocopied background research materials, photographs of sites ultimately not used for the story, and illustrations, provides a compact group of materials that document the creation and production of a work of fanfiction. A copy of the final product The Last Ride Raid is also included.

Also included is a CD containing PDFs of the correspondence and the fanzine, as well as an introductory letter from Wells to researchers and readers explaining the process of creating the fanzine.

This faceplate was on an old workgroup server (the hot-swap machine) originally used by the UNIX support team at Texas A&M University Libraries. This and other servers, which were replaced in the late-2000s, were whimsically assigned nicknames by the staff based on characters from the science fiction television show Farscape.

The server to which this faceplate was attached was named "Crais", after Captain Bialar Crais, a major Farscape character. In March 2003, Lani Tapu, the actor who portrayed Crais, was a guest at Aggiecon, and while on campus autographed this faceplate. After several years in operation, the server was replaced and sent to surplus, but the faceplate was retained by the Associate Director for Systems and eventually donated to Cushing Library.

This collection contains materials to the business and fannish career of Houston-area fan and con organizer Larry Taylor. Included in the collection are numerous fanzines, most of them from fans and fan associations in Texas in general and the Houston area in particular; program books, flyers, advertisements, and other documentation relating to genre conventions, including Collegecon '80 and Collegecon 2, cons at the University of Houston that Taylor helped run as a UH student; materials relating to Taylor's media company; and miscellaneous other materials.

This collection consists chiefly of correspondence regarding the Runge family of Galveston, Tex. and Menard, Tex., including Henry Runge, his sons Henry J. Runge and Louis Hermann Runge, their cousin Julius F. Runge, as well as family members in Hannover, Germany, including heirs Hans Eyl and his wife Meta Eyl; German immigrant and Texas businessman Walter Tips (1841-1911) who, after the death of Henry Runge, had formed the Las Moras Ranch Company (December 21, 1879) with his wife's aunt Julia Runge, wife of Henry Runge, and Runge's sons Henry J. Runge, and Louis H. Runge; German Emigration Company lands, lawyers and law firms in Austin, Tex. and San Antonio, Tex., including C. A. Goeth, the firm of Webb & Goeth, Adolph Goeth, the business partner of Walter Tips and brother of C. A. Goeth.

Also present are: legal documents, including deeds, wills, powers of attorney, some ranch operations records, including ranch inventories, accounting ledgers, and handwritten notes. These papers record the operations and transfers of ownership of over 130,000 acres of property, principally in the Texas counties of Comal, San Saba, Tom Green, Concho, and Menard, collectively known as the Las Moras Ranch.

Beyond the acquisition, operation, and ultimate liquidation of this ranch property, however, an interesting part of Texas history, that of the Adelsverien or German Emigration Company, and early German immigrant settlement are illuminated through the documents in the collection.

The collection series reflect the history of the ranch from its foundation until its sale in 1913.

• Series 1 begins with an 1867 legal document showing a transfer of ownership of many thousands of acres of land from Hermann Arnold Henry (Heinrich) Runge (1821-1861) of Funchal, Madiera, Portugal to his brother and business partner, Henry Runge (1816-1873). Henry Runge paid for the land in American Gold. Other documents in the papers include a very large judgment against the Adelsverien or German Emigration Company, a copy of the lengthy handwritten "Last Will of Henry Runge," probated April 2, 1873, and that of his wife, Julia, dated March 23, 1896.
• Subsequent documents in Series 2-Series 4 of the papers highlight the operation and eventual liquidation in 1913 of the Las Moras Ranch, including transcontinental communications between Germany and Texas among heirs to the Runge fortune. Several of these family letters scattered through the papers may be particularly difficult to translate since they are written in Kurrentschrift, a Gothic handwriting style.
• Playing important roles in the later transactions concerning the ranch properties were the sons of Henry Runge (1816-1873): Henry J. Runge (1859-1922), Louis Hermann Runge (1861-1936), and his nephew Julius F. Runge (1851-1906). Henry J. Runge and Julius F. Runge were financial advisors, while Louis Runge served as the ranch manager and lived on the Las Moras Ranch property. Walter E. Tips (1841-1911), another German immigrant, Texas Senator, and successful hardware merchandiser, who married into the Runge family, along with C. A. Goeth (b. 1869), a San Antonio attorney, were involved in the ranch operations and legal issues concerning the eventual dispersal of Las Moras Ranch property.

This collection consists of assorted manuscripts of novels and short stories by noted science fiction author Laura J. Mixon, including early versions of several of her works.

This collection contains materials relating to the life and career of author, publisher and professor Dr. Lawrence M. Schoen, in particular his work as founder of the Klingon Language Institute (KLI). The KLI is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 and devoted to the study and promotion of the Klingon language and culture.

Materials in the collection include correspondence, much of it related to the KLI; materials related to the KLI and the Klingon language; and news articles.

This collection includes correspondence, publications, and class notes related to or written by Biology Professor Lawrence S. Dillon. The items in the collection span Lawrence S. Dillon's works from 1946 to 1975. The collection includes class syllabi taught by Dillon, publications, AIBS directory, and conference schedules. Other items include journal articles and publications written by Dillon and his colleagues on topics pertaining to zoology, evolution, and geological events.

This collection contains 54 handwritten letters and documents addressed to Lawrence Sullivan Ross during his time as Governor of Texas [1887-1891], and from his time of President of Texas A&M College [1891-1898]. Also included are two Texas A&M College memorial service program for Lawrence Sullivan Ross [January 15-16, 1898].
