Biografie

Ellen Datlow was born in New York City in 1949 and has enjoyed a long and storied career as a science fiction, horror and fantasy editor and anthologist. She was the fiction editor for Omni Magazine from 1981-1998 and edited Sci Fiction from 2000-2005. She has edited a large number of anthology series, including, among others, Blood, Fairy Tales Anthologies, Fairy Tales Retold, Mythic Fiction, Omni Science Fiction, The Best Horror of the Year, and The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror. She has edited a great many single anthologies as well and has written numerous essays and reviews. Ellen Datlow won the 2002 and 2005 Hugo Awards for Best Professional Editor, as well as the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement in 2014. She has been nominated for many other professional awards as well.

Biografie

Terri Windling was born in New Jersey in 1958. She has written several novels including The Wood Wife (1996), which won the 1997 Mythopoeic Award for Adult Fantasy Literature, as well as enjoying a notable career as a fantasy artist and as an editor.

Her anthology series include Chronicles of the Borderlands, Elsewhere, Fairy Tale Anthologies, Fairy Tales Retold, Mythic Fiction, and The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror (the last four series co-edited with Ellen Datlow). She has also written a number of essays, short stories, and poems.

Windling, like her colleague, has been nominated and/or won a number of professional awards, including the 1982 World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology/Collection, the World Fantasy Fantasy Awards for Best Anthology in 1992, 2000, 2003, and 2007, the 2000 Stoker Award for Best Anthology, and the 2010 Nebula Solstice Award.

This collection consists of two copyedited manuscript anthologies: one, Little Deaths: 24 Tales of Sex and Horror (1995), edited by famed genre editor Ellen Datlow; and another, The Green Man: Tales from The Mythic Forest (2002), co-edited by Datlow and Terri Windling as part of Viking's Mythic Fiction series. The latter work won the 2002 World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology.
