This collection consists of issues from the comic book continuation of the television shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, both created and produced by Joss Whedon. Included are the issues for the final two story arcs of Buffy Season Eight, for the story arcs in Season Nine and Ten, and for the beginnings of Season Eleven. Season Nine and Season Ten are divided into two separate story strands, one following Buffy and her friends as they adapt to post-Sunnydale and post-Season Eight life in San Francisco, the other chronicling the ongoing adventures of the ensouled vampire Angel and Buffy's rival Slayer, Faith.

There are also issues of two mini-series that were published as part of Season Nine, which follow the adventures of the characters Spike and Willow, respectively. In addition, there are several issues of an additional Buffyverse comic mini-series from Dark Horse, this one exploring the development of the character Illyria (who figured in the television show Angel).

This archive includes a full run of the publication to date to date, including the master copies of several issues. There are some additional publications and ephemera.

Self-described as "the magazine Margaret Atwood warned you about," referencing Atwood's famous dismissal of science fiction as "rockets, chemicals and talking squids in outer space," Space Squid is a science fiction/humor 'zine published in Austin, Texas.

This collection consists of materials from fan, fanzine writer, and vidder 'Morgan Logan', primarily relating to her main fandom of _Starsky & Hutch._Materials include fanzines, DVDs of fanvids, CDs containing _Starsky & Hutch_images, examples of fan art, and additional fannish materials.

The collection also contains a number of objects and ephemera, including several _Star Trek_action figures from 1974 and a set of action figures from Stargate: Atlantis.

Much of the content of this collection consists of fan fiction. Fan fiction is the name given to literary or artistic productions created by fans about the characters, settings and events of the media universe in which they are interested.  Almost all of the fanfic in the Logan Collection is identified as "slash”. This collection consists of materials relating to the production and performance of The Intergalactic Nemesis (originally created 1996) and its sequels. The Nemesis adventures, created by Austin, TX-native Jason Neulander, are billed as "live-action graphic novels," combining the visual medium of comic books with elements of radio play and traditional stage performance. During the stage show, panels from the comic series are projected on a large screen, while three actors perform the voices for all the characters, a Foley artist performs the sound effects (as in traditional radio shows), and a pianist performs the soundtrack.

The collection includes various drafts of the Nemesis spinoff novel Blood Sacrifice, by Neulander, along with various publicity materials relating to performances of Nemesis and its sequels; posters; copies of the published Nemesis graphic novels, comic books, CDs and DVDs, and digital recordings of broadcasts and rehearsals.

This collection consists of the Star Trek fanfiction of writer Cat Ramos. Ramos writes primarily stories about the culture and society of the Klingon Empire, with her own particular noncanonical spin on the Trek universe. The majority of the collection consists of stories from her Citizen of the Empire cycle of stories.

This collection consists of various items from or relating to NecronomiCon Providence, a biennial convention and academic conference centered on the work of H.P. Lovecraft and on Weird Fiction more generally. It is always held in Providence, Rhode Island, Lovecraft's home, and generally held in late august, close to Lovecraft's birthday.

This collection consists of a number of items of Texas A&M University memorabilia, that display images, and lines of dialogue from the Star Wars cinematic universe. These items were sold in the fall of 2015 at the University Bookstore at the Memorial Student Center (MSC), as part of the nationwide landslide of publicity surrounding the December 2015 release of the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Items in the collection include T-shirts, pennants, stickers, decals, and beverage coolers, among others.

This collection consists of a number of different science fiction fanzines, most from the United States but a few from other countries.

Several of the publications, especially the early ones, are photocopies rather than originals.

This collection contains research materials relating to the author Marion Zimmer Bradley (1930-1999), collected by Dr. Marijane Werdsman of Texas Tech University. The materials were collected as part of a prospective biography of Bradley that Werdsman had intended to write, but the project fell apart when accusations arose in 2014 that Bradley had sexually abused her daughter Moira when Moira was a child.

Most of the materials were obtained from various Internet websites, and include materials relating to Bradley, to her fantasy world Darkover, and to the various online fan communities devoted to Bradley and her work.

This collection consists of a variety of media fanzines, mostly from the British television show The Professionals, but also including smaller numbers of fanzines from The Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Sentinel, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and several other media properties.

The majority of the content is fanfiction. Almost all the fanworks in this collection are identified as "slash,” referring to fanworks that feature same-sex relationships and are sometimes (though not always) sexually explicit. In slash, sexual identity, sexuality and/or romance are often the centers of the story, rather than the conventional adventures featured in more traditional fanworks.

A small portion of the collection consists of "het" material. "Het", like slash, refers to fanworks featuring sexual or romantic content, but with opposite-sex relationships.

"Gen" (more standard stories containing no sexual content) and het items are identified as such on the item folder. If an item is not identified as slash (s) or het (h), the item is slash. (g) indicates gen material. (h) indicates het material.

The collection also includes substantial numbers of fanvids (songvids). "Vidding" refers to the fannish activity of creating a music video (a 'fanvid') consisting of clips from various movies or TV shows set to particular pieces of music. Some vids utilize a single media universe, others involve multiple ones. The music that accompanies the clips is selected by the vidder in order to drive a particular narrative or to make a point about the characters or story being shown. Often these points are subversive of the accepted canon (for example, a vidder might use judiciously selected clips to suggest that two or more characters have a romantic relationship, whereas in "real life" no such relationship is stated or implied).

Finally, the collection includes a number of CDs containing images and stories from the yaoi genre of animated Japanese media. Yaoi, like slash, focuses on sexual or romantic relationships between male characters, as well as several examples of fan art from the television show Supernatural.

This collection consists of manuscript materials for the novels from SF and fantasy author Clarke, including outlines, drafts, notes, and submission packages. Also included is the final version of Clarke's master thesis, an unpublished novel of magical realism entitled Light Pollution.

The materials in the Clarke Collection are entirely digital.

This collection reflects the years of fannish interest and collecting done by Frank, a fan from Philadelphia, PA. Most of the collection documents Frank's interest with a particular subset of Star Trek fandom - Klingon culture. Items from this fandom include fanfiction, club newsletters, reference works, calendars, and several pieces of realia such as Klingon-themed jewelry.

The collection also contains several examples of fanzines from general Star Trek fandom and from several other fandoms. There is also one box of professionally published books - on Klingons and Star Trek, as well as several academic monographs on fan studies.

Aside from these, there is one additional major component to the Frank Collection. Frank collected a large number of songbooks containing so-called "filksongs". Filksinging is a venerable fannish activity - it can be generally described as science fiction-related folk music, and is frequently performed at conventions and other fannish get-togethers. The Frank Collection contains both filk songbooks and CD recordings of Frank's original filksong cassette tapes.

This collection includes correspondence to and from Clareson on his research, his science fiction journal editorship and related matters; manuscripts of some of Clareson's work, including a study of Robert Heinlein, as well as Understanding Contemporary American Science Fiction: The Formative Period (1990) and an unpublished biography of Charles Reade; research files for Clareson's study of John Wyndham; audio cassettes of interviews, panels and other appearances by Clareson; slides used by Clareson in his classroom work; and some miscellaneous materials. Also included are several awards that Clareson won for his professional work.

Several additional boxes contain research materials used by Clareson in the writing of his work The Heritage of Heinlein: A Critical Reading of the Fiction. Clareson died before he could complete the work, and it was ultimately finished and published by Joe Sanders in 2014. The materials include the manuscript for the book, as well as some original correspondence from Robert A. Heinlein, and copies of some of Heinlein's novels with notes by Clareson.

The correspondence contains letters from Lois McMaster Bujold, Harry Harrison, and James Tiptree, Jr.

This collection consists of decades worth of science fiction and fantasy fanzines, collected by Canadian fanzine writer and editor Mike Hall, and by book collector and author Chester Cuthbert. Chronologically, the fanzines date from some of the earliest years of organized SciFi fandom through the 21st century.

The collection contains a wide variety of material related to Star Trek, including books, records, calendars and realia such as pins, playing cards, music boxes, pictures, magazines covering Star Trek, apparel, cups, and glasses, models, ornaments, and other collectibles.

Approximately 102 books have been integrated into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Research Collection. Each book added has a note "Sharon Faye Wilbur Star Trek Collection."

An additional series contains reference material relating to the author Andre Norton, with whom Wilbur was acquainted. Works by Norton that Wilbur owned have been integrated into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Research Collection.

A collection of materials made to commemorate the opening of the 2013-2014 Cushing Library exhibit on the work of George R. R. Martin, entitled "Deeper Than Swords". The exhibit opened in March 2013.

The collection includes four portraits of characters from A Song of Ice & Fire, in acrylic on canvas, painted by Evangeline Owen for the exhibit.

The Your Cruise Director collection contains material from various fandoms collected by fan and fanfic writer "Your Cruise Director" (who prefers to remain anonymous). The material includes fanzines and fan fiction. A large portion of the media is slash or het, but also contains gen.

This collection consists primarily of fanzines. Fanzines are non-professional and non-official publications produced by fans of a certain media for the pleasure of others who share the same interest. Fan fiction is the name given to literary or artistic productions created by fans about the characters, settings, and events of the media universe in which they are interested.

"Slash" refers to fanworks that feature same-sex relationships and are sometimes (though not always) sexually explicit. In slash, sexual identity, sexuality and/or romance are often the centers of the story, rather than the conventional adventures featured in more traditional fanworks. “Het” refers to fanworks that are sexual in nature, but feature opposite sex relationships. “Gen” refers to more standard storytelling with no sexual content. “Femslash” is a term that refers to same sex relationships with women. “H/C” means hurt/comfort which refers to a relationship in the story where a character is hurt or injured in some way, and is comforted by another character. The folders in this collection are marked with slash, femslash, het, h/c, or gen. If a folder is not marked, it is gen. The term “Multi-Fandom” refers to media that contains material from multiple fandoms.

Series 1, Fanzines, and Series 2, Fanfiction, have been separated based on their difference in media. Fan fiction is fiction incorporating the characters and concepts of a commercial media property, created by its admirers, typically without permission from the author or owner. In these cases, the items are individual stories separated from their original zines or that were published as standalones. Fanzines in this case are full fan magazine publications that include various forms of media, mostly fan fiction.

A large portion of media in this collection is about Star Trek. Star Trek is an American science fiction media franchise created by Gene Roddenberry, which began with the 1960s television series and quickly became a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon. Star Trek has been a cult phenomenon for decades. Fans of the franchise are called "Trekkies" or "Trekkers". The franchise spans a wide range of spin-offs including games, figurines, novels, toys, and comics.

Both slash and het items have been specifically identified because of their importance as highly visible fan fiction subcultures, (s) indicates slash material, (h) indicates het material, (g) indicates gen material.

This collection consists of documentation relating to the life and editorial/bibliographical career of Everett Franklin Bleiler (1920-2010), including correspondence, subject files, notebooks, files documenting Bleiler's editorial reviews of works for Dover Publications, and other materials.

All materials dating before 1938 are photocopies of originals.

Series I: Correspondence, includes letters exchanged between Bleiler and such literary luminaries as Jacques Barzun, Anthony Boucher, Jack Chalker, August Derleth, L. Sprague De Camp, Philip Jose Farmer, James Gunn, A. Langley Searles, and Colin Wilson. There are also numerous letters to and from Bleiler's friend Martin Gardner.

Series II: Subject Files, and Series V: Other Materials, both consist of various subject files. The former were alphabetically organized in boxes into distinct subject files at the time of processing, whereas the latter were distributed throughout the collection in no particular arrangement.

Series III: Potential Publications Files, consists of individual reviews by Bleiler of works being considered for publication (or republication) by Dover Publications, for whom Bleiler worked in various capacities from 1955-1978.

Series V: Other Materials, includes, among other items, issues of the notorious pro-Nazi newspaper The Free American and Deutscher Weckruf und Beobachter, from the German American Bund. It is unknown when, why and how Bleiler acquired these, although we know he had no connection of any kind to the Bund.

Series VII consists of numerous 3 1/2 ' floppy disks, containing files that were created in various versions of Microsoft Word.

This collection contains materials to the business and fannish career of Houston-area fan and con organizer Larry Taylor. Included in the collection are numerous fanzines, most of them from fans and fan associations in Texas in general and the Houston area in particular; program books, flyers, advertisements, and other documentation relating to genre conventions, including Collegecon '80 and Collegecon 2, cons at the University of Houston that Taylor helped run as a UH student; materials relating to Taylor's media company; and miscellaneous other materials.

This collection consists primarily of manuscripts, proofs and galleys for a number of works by SF author Gould, including both novels and short stories. It also includes several typescripts for works not written by Gould, including several volumes of the George R.R. Martin-edited _Wild Cards_shared universe novels.

This collection consists of two versions of the manuscript for William Gibson's 2007 novel Spook Country, a science fiction technothriller that is the second in his acclaimed "Blue Ant" trilogy. (It follows Gibson's 2003 novel Pattern Recognitions and precedes 2010's Zero History). The trilogy has been defined by Gibson himself as "speculative novels of last Wednesday", that is, novels set in the contemporary world but viewed through a science fictional perspective, showing readers the present through a futuristic lens.

The Blue Ant trilogy centers on the character of Hubertus Bigend, an advertising executive and tech magnate who serves as the series' amoral antihero. Though Bigend dominates the trilogy as whole, Spook Country focuses on the intertwining stories of three characters in particular: Hollis Henry, a journalist hired by Bigend to write a story on the phenomenon of 'locative art'; Chinese-Cuban Tito, a member of a family of criminals who gets bound up in American secret intelligence operations; and Milgrim, a drug addict being held in captivity by a mysterious covert operative named Brown. The novel, set in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, and explores the uses and misuses of locative technology, the eversion of cyberspace, and the changed political climate of the United States following the attacks. It was nominated for the 2008 Locus award for Best SF Novel, the 2009 Imaginaire Award, and the 2017 Prix Aurora for Best of the Decade.

Both versions are housed in clamshell boxes within the larger enclosure. The first box contains the autographed typescript of the novel, with heavy corrections and copyedits. The second box holds the autographed and corrected unbound proofs.

This collection consists of numerous typewritten manuscripts of short stories and novels from science fiction author K.D. (Kathy Diane) Wentworth. Among other works, included is the manuscript for Wentworth's 1994 novel Moonspeaker, the first in her "House of Moons Chronicles" fantasy series.

This collection (also known as the Moorcock Life Collection) consists of a wide variety of materials, including manuscripts, proofs, and notes for a large number of Moorcock's works; convention materials; assorted periodicals, newsletters, and other publications; photographs; and many other items. This collection covers the range of Moorcock's literary and artistic career.

This collection consists of various materials related to American fantasy author Lloyd Alexander, including a few pieces of correspondence, a number of Christmas cards illustrated and signed by Alexander, informational brochures, invitations, and miscellaneous items.

This collection consists of a number of typed manuscripts from acclaimed science fiction and fantasy author Andre Norton, spanning much of her later career, from 1981-2005. Nearly all the manuscripts are autographed by Norton, and nearly all are also marked by handmade corrections from either Norton, her editor, or her publisher.

In some cases, individual titles contain multiple copies of manuscripts (albeit with individual hand corrections) and it is unclear in which order the copies were produced. The term "original", which has been given to certain manuscripts, is a term used by Norton and does not necessarily mean that it is literally the original typed manuscript.

The collection also contains several pieces of correspondence from Norton, most dated between 1963-2004, with two that are undated. Most are typed letters that bear Norton's signature, but a few are handwritten.

This collection includes manuscripts, papers, and publications from throughout Mayhar's career, but the bulk of the material dates from the late 1980s to the present.

This collection consists of the diaries and journals kept by Andre Norton between 1930 and 2004, a few months before her death. The diaries record Norton's life experiences, thoughts, and notes on her writing and writing process.

This collection consists of a number of so-called "official" J.R.R. Tolkien Calendars, published between 1973-1994 by Ballantine Books and subsequently by HarperCollins Publishers. The calendars are noted for their colorful and lush art, as well as for the dating within of important events in the history of Middle-earth.

Artists whose work is featured in the calendars include: J.R.R. Tolkien, The Brothers Hildebrandt, Darrell K. Sweet, Michael Hague, Ted Naismith, John Howe,and Alan Lee, among others.

Calendars from early in the run (which is incomplete) contain handwritten notes and reminders by the donor.

This collection contains notes, checklists, copies of Otto Binder letters, and edited drafts of Bill Schelly’s Words of Wonder: The Life and Times of Otto Binder (2003).

This collection contains materials relating to Golden Gryphon Press and its publication of Howard Waldrop's 2003 novelette "A Better World's In Birth!". Materials in the collection include Waldrop's hand-typed manuscript, editor Marty Halpern's edited draft of the story, a final typescript, a copy of the chapbook and a cover flat, and electronic copies of the final typescript.

The novelette tells the story of an alternate central Europe, in which a Communist revolution occurred in the middle of the 19th century, led by Karl Marx, Friederich Engels, and Richard Wagner. In 1876, rumors fly that the ghosts of these three revolutionary martyrs have begun appearing in the city of Dresden. The story examines how these specters may be tied into a larger political conspiracy.

This collection consists of items collected by fanfic writer Muriel Perun. Most of the items are issues of TV Guide with Star Trek related covers, but there is also a program book from Escapade 13 as well as photographs of Alexander Siddig (Dr. Julian Bashir on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), taken at an unidentified con.
