The Arkham House Collection consists of correspondence from August Derleth to Howard Wandrei. Derleth, a writer, founded Arkham House to publish and keep in print the work of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, a friend and fellow writer. Lovecraft died in 1937; for the next two years Derleth tried unsuccessfully to find a publisher for Lovecraft's writings. Using money from prepaid orders and the personal investment of Donald Wandrei (brother of Howard Wandrei), Derleth founded Arkham House in 1939. Arkham House published science fiction works by Lovecraft and other writers such as Algernon Blair, Clark Ashton Smith and Henry S. Whitehead.

In his letters to fellow science-fiction writer Howard Wandrei, August Derleth writes about his publishing efforts at Arkham House, his own writing career and the details of his personal life. His letters also mention other authors and publishing houses. The letters date from 1930-1953; most letters are accompanied by the original stamped envelopes.

Note about speaking at the Arlington Junior League and a letter to Mrs. Clements thanking her for assisting someone be accepted into the Junior League who later helped start a Junior League in Arlington

Letters and notes about Mrs. Clements speaking at the group’s meeting in Arlington, August 9. One letter indicates the engagement was cancelled and a not on the original folder indicated it was cancelled on August 3.

This collection contains documents, class schedule, and requirement list for the completion of the Army Specialized Training Program for the ROTC at Texas A&M College during 1943. Included are course descriptions for the various classes in the program, along with schedules and requirements.

This collection contains information about the work of A. A. Jakkula at the Texas A&M Research Foundation in the Oceanography Department. Included is a photo album with pictures, newspaper articles, and biographies of people involved in the ship "Atlantic", which was renamed "Dr. A.A. Jakkulan" because of his contribution to its development.

The first section details the origin of the Science Fiction Writers of Earth and AggieCon in 1979, and comments on AggieCon.

This collection consists of 12 pieces of correspondence, almost entirely letters written by legendary science fiction author Clarke to Baird Searles, owner of the well-known Science Fiction Bookshop in New York City, NY. Clarke, who lived in Sri Lanka, frequently ordered books from Searles.

There is also one letter from Clarke to Martin Last, Searles' writing collaborator and domestic partner.

This collection consists of administrative and business files from Victor Gollancz, Ltd., one of the most important publishing companies in 20th-century Great Britain. Gollancz published the works of many science fiction authors, including, notably, Arthur C. Clarke.

The materials in this collection specifically document Gollancz' relationship with Clarke over a period of nearly 40 years, during which Gollancz published many of Clarke's most important novels - including The Hammer of God, Imperial Earth, and the three sequels to Rendezvous With Rama as well as many of Clarke's nonfiction works. Materials include correspondence (including from Clarke himself), contracts and agreements, administrative documentation, and dust jackets from numerous works of Clarke.

Overall the collection provides a window into the relationship between an author and his publisher, and the ways in which they interact to produce a finished literary product.

This collection consists of the original typescript of Arthur C. Clarke's short story, "Jupiter Five", written in 1951 and first published in the May 1953 issue of the magazine IF: Worlds of Science Fiction. This typescript is the setting copy for the magazine publication and has been copy-edited by editor Larry T. Shaw and the author. It also includes two layout sheets with design notes and paste-in illustrations.

This collection consists of materials related to Arthur C. Clarke's sales of stories and other pieces to Playboy Magazine. The collection includes a group of 27 typed letters and 7 autograph letters, mainly between Clarke and editor A. G. Spectorksy, internal Playboy memoranda, and correspondence from Playboy. Also included are typescripts (marked as setting copy) for 4 short works of fiction and 8 nonfiction pieces by Clarke.

This collection is a part of the more than 299 articles which Arthur Dieterich wrote for the Dairymen's Digest, the American Jersey Cattle Club, the Texas Jersey Cattle Club, Progressive Farmer, Farm and Ranch, and numerous other agricultural papers. The articles included in this collection cover the change from primitive cow milking to modern computerized dairy farming.
