Material in folders 1-2 (and box 16, folders 25-28), came to Cushing Library in a three-ring binder with the handwritten spine title "Jean Orieux," with note on verso of front cover: "J. Orieux, novelist, writer, etc.-Ac. fr'se. Corresp. w/ Melchior-Bonnet. Left in order acquired-envelopes are separate if I wasn't sure of which letter it goes with." Material in folders

3-5 from a binder titled "Orieux Mamariee 1." Material in folders 6-8 from a binder titled "Orieux Mamariee 2." Material in folders 9-11 from a binder titled "Pasteur Valery-Radot [sic] to baronne de Brimont."Louis Pasteur Vallery-Radot (b. 1886 Paris, d. 1970 Paris), French physician, biographer of Louis Pasteurand editor of his complete works. Material in folders 12-18 from a binder titled "Victor Rattier [sic]." Material in folders 19-26 from another binder titled "Victor Rattier [sic]." Victor Ratier, as editor of La Silhouette, was a defendant in an April 1830 lese majeste trial. Material in folders 27 from a binder titled "Princess of Schleswig Holstein 1," with accompanying note: "Louise-Augusta dite Marie-Louise, Princesse de Schleswig Holstein ...."
