Men's Tennis became a varsity program in 1947 under coach W.M Dowell. The men's team had achieved five straight NCAA Sweet Sixteen spots in the years 1999-2004 with the guidance of head coach Tim Cass. In 2001, the team finished first in the Big 12 Conference.
