Brenda Cooper Collection

This collection consists of materials from science fiction author and futurist Cooper, including a number of manuscripts from her works. These include the novels Reading the Wind (2008), Wings of Creation (2009), The Diamond Deep (2013), and Wilders (2017), as well as a number of Cooper's short stories. Also included are early examples of Cooper's writing, as collected in her writing portfolios from her creative writing classes at Lower Columbia College (Longview, WA).

The collection also includes a number of program books and other materials from numerous science fiction conventions that Cooper attended or was a guest at, as well as miscellaneous other materials.

Buck Rogers Comic Strip Collection

This collection consists of a number of proof pages for the Buck Rogers comic strip, December 14, 1959 - April 3, 1960. The proofs contain both the comic pages themselves and typewritten scripts for each strip.

The comic strips are illustrated by George Truska, who drew the strip from 1959 until the end of its original run in 1967.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Comic Book Collection

This collection consists of issues from the comic book continuation of the television shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, both created and produced by Joss Whedon. Included are the issues for the final two story arcs of Buffy Season Eight, for the story arcs in Season Nine and Ten, and for the beginnings of Season Eleven. Season Nine and Season Ten are divided into two separate story strands, one following Buffy and her friends as they adapt to post-Sunnydale and post-Season Eight life in San Francisco, the other chronicling the ongoing adventures of the ensouled vampire Angel and Buffy's rival Slayer, Faith.

There are also issues of two mini-series that were published as part of Season Nine, which follow the adventures of the characters Spike and Willow, respectively. In addition, there are several issues of an additional Buffyverse comic mini-series from Dark Horse, this one exploring the development of the character Illyria (who figured in the television show Angel).

This collection includes documents of the Burchard/Birchard family from 1821 to 1998. The family is notable to Texas as Amasa Burchard was a founder of Independence Texas in 1835. The Burchard family claimed land through the generations in Texas following Amasa Burchard. The family remains active in Texas as John W. Burchard helped erect a Historical Landmark in Independence in 1998.

Included are two handwritten pages from Hunting Bandits in Corsica, one handwritten page of a manuscript by C. Northcote Parkinson, and one 8x10 black and white photo of Forester.

C. Walt Brown World War II Air Crew Training Division Collection

This collection consists of letters (mostly to his mother and family between 1943-1944), newspaper clippings, and a few other materials detailing the life of Charles Walt Brown during his tenure in the US Army Air Force, especially his experiences while in the Air Crew Training Division on the Texas A&M campus.

From 1943 to 1944, Texas A&M College provided its land and facilities to the US Military to prepare soldiers for World War II (WWII). In Brown's letter to his mother, Mary Swan, and to other family members, he told of details of his life in the Army and at the different military facilities he was stationed at.

Candidates for Degrees Not Listed in Commencement Programs

This collection solely pertains to Texas A&M Graduate Studies Program.

Included are lists with the names of students who were omitted from the official Commencement Program but recognized by the university to approve for upper-level degrees. The documents contain the student's name and the titles of each student's dissertation. The dates shown on these documents are the date for the day the students were recommended, and the date they will be reviewed.

Captain Marvel - Ms. Marvel Comic Book Collection

A collection of comic books from the new series from Marvel Comics, Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel.

The first is written by Kelly Sue DeConnick and details the adventures of superhero Carol Danvers, the former Ms. Marvel who in 2013 assumed the name, Captain Marvel. The second series is written by G. Willow Wilson and explores the story of young Kamala Khan, a Muslim American girl who acquires superpowers and adopts the name Ms. Marvel out of tribute to Danvers. Ms. Marvel, as a Pakistani-American, is the first Muslim superhero in an American comic book to have her own title.

The collection includes issues from the post-Secret Warscycle of stories concerning the two heroines.

Artists vary between individual issues of both series.

Carol Lynn / Kraith Collection

This collection contains materials relating to the creation, development, and printing of the series of Star Trek fanzines devoted to the Kraith Universe. The Kraith Universe was a shared Star Trek alternate universe created by Jacqueline Lichtenberg in 1970, and six collected volumes of Kraith stories were originally published between 1972-1980 by publisher/editor Carol Lynn and her associate Debbie Goldstein.

The series contains correspondence, copies of the Kraith fanzines themselves, and related materials such as story drafts. A large part of the collection consists of printing masters for the Kraith zines as well as a few other zines published by Lynn.

Also included are various materials from several science fiction conventions.

Cat Ramos Collection

This collection consists of the Star Trek fanfiction of writer Cat Ramos. Ramos writes primarily stories about the culture and society of the Klingon Empire, with her own particular noncanonical spin on the Trek universe. Cavitt Family Papers

Included is the correspondence of and articles about Ann Cavitt Armstrong, that sheds a light on the early settlement period of Texas.
