This collection consists of the original typescript of Arthur C. Clarke's short story, "Jupiter Five", written in 1951 and first published in the May 1953 issue of the magazine IF: Worlds of Science Fiction. This typescript is the setting copy for the magazine publication and has been copy-edited by editor Larry T. Shaw and the author. It also includes two layout sheets with design notes and paste-in illustrations.

1-1: Two layout sheets for the publication of Clarke’s "Jupiter Five" in the May 1953 issue of IF: Works of Science Fiction. Sheets contain numerous holograph design notes along with two paste-in illustrations (loose) and two paste-in text blocks (one loose). Post-it note with bookseller’s notations about the collection.

1-2: Typescript of Clarke’s "Jupiter Five". Setting copy for magazine publication. Cover sheet (detached) includes typed blurb of the story, holograph design notes, and is signed by the editor, Larry T. Shaw. Typescript contains numerous holograph corrections and revisions by Shaw and several minor holograph corrections by Clarke. Typescript is 46 leaves, double-spaced, typed on rectos only. Ribbon copy.
