Note générale

The comic strip Buck Rogers in the 25th Century A.D. debuted in January 1929 (the character of Anthony "Buck" Rogers had first appeared in print a few months previously, in a novella by Phillip Francis Nowlan in the August 1928 issue of "Amazing Stories"). The strip was syndicated by the National Newspaper Service. It chronicled the adventures of Rogers, a 20th-century man who is rendered unconscious by a mysterious gas and sent into suspended animation until his awakening in the year 2429. Once in the future, as a man out of time, he engages in a number of different thrilling adventures.

The strip in its original incarnation ran from 1929-1967. A revival ran from 1979-1983.
